March plans with little ones in Barcelona

March is here and the good weather is coming. Parks, markets, museums and outdoor plans with kids aged 0-5 in Barcelona.

Culture 2-5 years 🏠 Indoor

CosmoCaixa — Children's Planetarium

CosmoCaixa's children's planetarium has sessions adapted for kids from age 2. Half an hour lying back and gazing at stars while they tell stories about the sky. It's dark but not scary — most kids are completely mesmerised.

📍 CosmoCaixa, Carrer d'Isaac Newton, 26, 08022 Barcelona 🚗 20 min

💰 ~6€ adult (under 16 free)

💡 Parent tip: Book planetarium tickets online in advance — the children's sessions sell out fast on weekends. While you're there, don't miss the flooded forest, which is included with admission.

Nature 0-5 years 🌳 Outdoor Free

Parc de la Ciutadella

The classic that never lets you down. The boating lake, the mammoth statue, the monumental fountain. In March the weather starts to warm up and the park looks gorgeous. Kids run, ducks swim, you grab a coffee from the kiosk and life is good for a while.

📍 Parc de la Ciutadella, Passeig de Picasso, 21, 08003 Barcelona 🚗 5 min

💡 Parent tip: The playground near the Passeig de Picasso entrance is the best one for under-5s. Bring stale bread for the ducks (not biscuits — bad for them). March weekends have a lovely buzz in the park.

Food 0-5 years 🏠 Indoor Free

Mercat de Sant Antoni

A beautiful, recently renovated market where you can have breakfast or lunch with kids without the usual stress. There are fruit stalls that cut up fresh fruit for you, tapas bars with high chairs, and on Sunday mornings there's a book and comics market outside. Kids enjoy wandering between the stalls.

📍 Mercat de Sant Antoni, Carrer del Comte d'Urgell, 1, 08011 Barcelona 🚗 5 min

💡 Parent tip: Saturday morning is the sweet spot — less packed than weekday lunchtimes. The Cal Pepito stall does fresh juices that kids demolish. There are decent public toilets too (rare for a market, I know).

Sport 3-5 years 🌳 Outdoor

Bosc Urbà

A treetop adventure course at the Fòrum. They have a mini circuit for kids from age 3 with low ziplines, hanging bridges, and nets. Safe and supervised, with instructors who go with them the whole time. Kids come out grinning from ear to ear.

📍 Bosc Urbà, Parc del Fòrum, 08019 Barcelona 🚗 20 min

💰 ~15€ per child (kids' circuit)

💡 Parent tip: Book online — weekends fill up. Bring spare socks and comfortable clothes. The kids' circuit takes about 30-40 minutes. There's a picnic area right next to it if you want to bring sandwiches.

Day Trip to the Llobregat Delta

About 20 minutes by car from the city centre. A flat, pushchair-friendly walk along wooden boardwalks between lagoons. Kids spot flamingos, ducks, and all sorts of birds. It's peaceful, pretty, and a proper breath of fresh air away from the city.

📍 Espai Natural del Delta del Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat 🚗 25 min

💡 Parent tip: Park at the Remolar-Filipines Information Centre and start from there. The loop walk is about 3 km, doable with a pushchair. Bring binoculars if you have them — the flamingos are far off but spectacular.
