Easter Week in Barcelona

Barcelona fills up with Easter plans for families. Processions in the Gothic Quarter, mona de Pasqua workshops in pastry shops, Easter egg hunts in parks. It's the perfect week to enjoy the city without the school rush, at a slow pace and with ice cream.

💡 Parent tip: The Gothic Quarter has processions on Thursday and Friday afternoon — they're short and kids love watching the figures. Afterwards, grab a treat at a Born pastry shop where the monas will be on display in the windows.

SOS Oceans — Museu Maritim

The 'SOS Oceans! La colla PATAPUM al rescat' exhibition at the Maritime Museum is designed for children. Interactive, colourful and with a lovely message about caring for the oceans. Little ones touch, play and learn without realising it. Until April 26.

💡 Parent tip: Sunday afternoons from 3pm entry is free. The Drassanes building itself is spectacular — kids stare at the ceiling. There's a baby changing area in the ground floor toilets.

CaixaForum Workshop — Artefacte: coses i ombres

A creative workshop where kids experiment with shadows, lights and everyday objects. Created by artist Xavier Bobes, it's the kind of activity that sparks curiosity without overwhelming them. Children handle materials, create shapes and discover how light transforms things.

💡 Parent tip: Book workshop places online — they fly during Easter week. CaixaForum has a decent cafe for a drink afterwards. The Puig i Cadafalch building is worth a look from outside too.

Juguem a les Places — Ciutat Vella

Free outdoor play sessions in squares across Ciutat Vella. Instructors with play materials, motor skills circuits and family activities. Free, outdoors, no booking needed. It's like a play cafe but in the neighbourhood square.

💡 Parent tip: Check the district's social media to find out which square each week. Usually Friday or Saturday mornings. Bring suncream — the old town squares trap the spring sunshine.

Tibidabo — 2026 Season

Tibidabo has opened for the new season and with the long spring days it's the perfect plan. The Avion, the Cuca de Llum, the Giradabo — the same classics that still work a treat. Easter queues are shorter than summer and the weather is ideal.

💡 Parent tip: Take the Tramvia Blau + Funicular up — the journey is part of the fun. Weekdays during Easter have much shorter queues. Bring sandwiches because the food inside is pricey and underwhelming.
