“Contes a la Mà” are lovely storytelling sessions led by Marta Catalàn at Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló in Les Corts. Marta tells stories using her hands, voice, objects, and lots of imagination. Little ones are completely captivated — it’s one of those activities that hooks them from the very first minute.

The sessions are designed for children from age 1 to 5. It doesn’t matter if they can’t talk much yet: the storytelling is so visual and expressive that even the youngest follow along perfectly. It’s a wonderful way to introduce children to the world of stories and nurture a love of reading from an early age.

Best of all, it’s completely free and in a space as lovely as a public library. Use the visit to get a library card if you don’t already have one — children can take books and stories home for free. It’s a neighbourhood gem that’s well worth adding to your routine.
