Tibidabo

★★★★☆

Spain's oldest amusement park, perched on top of Tibidabo mountain with jaw-dropping views of all Barcelona. It features classic vintage rides, an automata museum, and a dedicated kids' zone. The ride up on the Tramvia Blau and funicular is an adventure in itself.

💡 Best for: Kids who are already walking and want to ride everything (2-5 years)

⚠️ Avoid if... Strong wind days — they close rides and the funicular may stop running

💡 Parent tip: Take the Tramvia Blau + funicular up — it's half the fun. Head straight for the Avió and the Talaia — queues build fast.

Tibidabo is one of those magical places that makes you feel like Barcelona has superpowers. You ride the Tramvia Blau (which is an attraction in itself), take the funicular, and suddenly you’re on top of the world with a vintage amusement park at your feet. The views are breathtaking and the kids can’t believe their eyes.

For little ones, the children’s ride area is really solid. The classic airplane, the carousel horses, the little train, the mini bumper cars — everything has a charming retro vibe that adults enjoy too. The Automata Museum is small but fascinating for 3-5 year olds. And if you pick a clear day, the views from the Talaia (the Ferris wheel) are stunning enough to make you emotional.

What they don’t tell you: it’s expensive for a family, weekend queues are significant, and with babies you’ll want a carrier because strollers don’t work well in many areas. Our trick: go on a weekday, arrive mid-morning, and don’t try to see everything. Three or four rides with little ones is already a perfect day.
